Rep. Mason Statement on SCOTUS Decision Upholding Federal Health Care Reform
'It is time for Gov. Walker to move forward and fully implement health care reform'

MADISON - State Representative Cory Mason (D-Racine), the ranking Assembly Democratic member on the Legislature's Joint Committee on Finance, released this statement today following the U.S. Supreme Court's landmark ruling that the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is constitutional:

"The Supreme Court decision this morning is tremendously good news for Wisconsin's families. Thousands of Wisconsin families have already benefitted from the parts of the ACA that were in effect, and today's Supreme Court ruling will give relief, economic security, and predictability to those Wisconsin families, small businesses, and the tens of thousands of other Wisconsinites who will benefit once the Act is fully implemented.

"Now that our nation's highest court has ruled, it is time for Governor Walker to move forward and fully implement the ACA in Wisconsin. The Governor should put politics aside and instead prioritize the health care needs of Wisconsin's families. I hope that the Governor will make real his pledges about working in a bipartisan fashion and quickly implement the ACA in Wisconsin to drive down health care costs and expand health care options for Wisconsin's residents and small businesses."
