Rep. Loudenbeck to Honor Port of Milwaukee Foreign-Trade Zone
Resolution to be Presented at Stateline World Trade Association Awards Banquet

Madison, WI…Representative Amy Loudenbeck (R-Clinton) will honor the Port of Milwaukee Foreign-Trade Zone No. 41 at the Stateline World Trade Association annual awards banquet on Thursday, April 26, 5:30 p.m., at the Butterfly Supper Club, 5246 East County Road X, in Beloit, WI.

Rep. Loudenbeck authored a Joint Resolution in the state Assembly which honors the Port of Milwaukee’s Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) No. 41 and supports the inclusion of the nine additional Wisconsin Counties of Walworth, Rock, Jefferson, Waukesha, Dodge, Washington, Ozaukee, Fond du Lac, and Sheboygan. She is also the President of the Stateline World Trade Association.

“Foreign-Trade Zones facilitate international trade and increase the global competitiveness of U.S. based companies. The expansion into nine additional Wisconsin counties means that more businesses will benefit from increased cash flow and tax savings, and communities benefit from increased jobs and an expanded tax base,” said Loudenbeck.

The public benefits of a Foreign-Trade Zone include facilitating and expediting international trade; providing special customs procedures as a public service to help firms conduct international trade-related operations  in competition with foreign plants; encouraging and facilitating exports; attracting offshore activity and encouraging retention of domestic activity; assisting state and local development efforts; and creating employment opportunities.
