
Representative Daniel LeMahieu was born in Sheboygan on November 5th, 1946. After graduating from Oostburg High School in 1964, he attended UW-Sheboygan and UW-Milwaukee. Dan served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971 and is a Vietnam Era veteran. He is a former publisher of Lakeshore Weekly. He is the past president of Oostburg Business Association and Oostburg Kiwanis Club and is a current member of both. Dan served on the Sheboygan County Board from 1988-2002 and was the chairman from 2000-2002. He is the recipient of many awards including: Friend of Agriculture 2005-06, 2003-04; Wisconsin Counties Association Outstanding Legislator 2005-06, 2003-04; Wisconsin Grocers Association Friend of Grocers 2003-04; Friend of the Dairy Industry 2005-06, 2003-04; Wisconsin Pro-Life Legislator of the Year 2005; Wisconsin Builders Association Friend of the Housing Industry 2006, 2005; Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce Champion of Commerce 2005-06.
Dan is married and has 3 children.
He was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 2002 and has been re-elected since 2004.
