Drought Information
During this unusually hot and dry summer, our Wisconsin farmers have been hit incredibly hard by the lack of rainfall. On July 9th, Governor Walker declared a Drought Emergency which has allowed expedited permits for farmers to temporarily use lake water for irrigation.
The Department of Natural Resources is responsible for accelerated water diversion requests. You can find more information about this tool by visiting the following website:
Farmers and concerned citizens can also contact the Wisconsin Farm Center for more information and services available to them during this emergency. Please call the center toll-free at (800) 942-2474 or email
farmcenter@wisconsin.gov.
Finally, I encourage farmers to call my office toll free at (888) 529-0072 or email me at Rep.Krug@legis.wisconsin.gov with concerns about crop conditions or water diversion protocol.
Road Construction
It certainly is summer, and with that comes construction season. I would like to remind motorists they should always slow down and use caution when driving through construction zones.
If you would like more information regarding traffic impact and delays in the North Central Region, please call 5-1-1 or visit,
