Speaker’s statement on Governor Walker’s State of the State address
Madison – Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald (R-Horicon) issued the following statement following Governor Scott Walker’s 2012 State of the State Address:
“One year ago, I stood with Governor Walker as we laid the foundation for the boldest reforms any state has seen in a generation. I stand with him today as the benefits of our shared vision for Wisconsin’s future are starting to become clear.
“We’ve had the first year of job growth in three years while at the same time closed a massive budget deficit. Communities and school districts across the state were able to balance their own budgets without layoffs and property taxes are frozen or down across the state.
“The success of the reforms we enacted will become even more evident as we move through 2012 with our continued focus on pro-growth policies to get more Wisconsinities working again.”
