Department of Workforce Development verifies numbers
Madison – Throughout this week numbers have been thrown around in press releases and on the news.
“According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of people working in the state of Wisconsin has increased by 21,400 since December 2010,” states Ballweg.
“To be crystal clear, from 2008 to 2010, under Governor Doyle, Wisconsin lost 150,000 jobs. Despite the numbers over the past six months, Wisconsin had in fact gained over 20,000 jobs in 2011.”
The unemployment rate in Wisconsin continues to decline as more people in Wisconsin go back to work.
