  • Scholarship Winners
    State Representative Joan Ballweg (R-Markesan) presented three out of six scholarship winners last week.
  • Jobs Numbers
    The report states that Wisconsin actually gained over 23,000 jobs from December 2010 to December 2011; a sharp contrast from others claiming we lost 33,900 jobs last year.
  • Betty Eannelli retirement
    State Representative Ballweg (R- Markesan) presented Betty Eannelli with a plaque to commemorate her retirement for representing and serving the citizens of the Village of Redgranite for the last 38 years.
  • Dalton
    State Representative Joan Ballweg (R- Markesan) along with State Senator Luther Olsen (R- Ripon) presented a plaque to Allan Hoffman, Town of Kingston Chairperson, on Dalton’s 100th Anniversary.
  • Savings
    State Representative Joan Ballweg (R-Markesan) commented on savings in the 41st Assembly District resulting from Governor Walker’s budget reforms, which he announced today has saved the state’s taxpayers over $1 billion.

Joan Ballweg Leadership Scholarship

High school Seniors who live in the 41st Assembly District and are planning on continuing their education at an accredited 2 or 4-year college are eligible to apply for one of five $500 scholarships.  Download the 2011 scholarship description, application, and recommendation information here.  Applications are due April 15, 2011.​

Visit the State Capitol

Individuals, schools, and civic groups are welcome to visit the State Capitol.  Listed in 2001 as a National Historic Landmark, our Capitol is certainly one of the most beautiful in the country.  Nestled between Lake Mendota and Lake Monona our Capitol stands just 3 feet shorter than the Nation’s Capitol and has the largest dome by circumference in the nation.
