Representative Mary Williams was born in Phillips, WI on July 8, 1949.  She graduated from Phillips High School in 1967 and married her husband Al Williams in 1968.  They have 3 children, daughters Michelle and Kim who live in Mosinee and Medford and son Kris who lives in Park City, Utah.  They also have 4 grandchildren, Cody and Marrol in Mosinee and Evan and Brody in Medford.

Mary received her Associate Degree from Taylor County Teachers College in 1969 and her B.S. in Elementary Education from UW-Stevens Point in 1974.  She went on to teach 2nd grade in the Medford Area School District for 18 years.  After teaching, Mary joined her husband Al in owning and running a number of local restaurants in Medford, Abbotsford, Ladysmith, Neillsville, and Mosinee.  They currently own and operate the Happy Joe's Pizza and Ice Cream Parlor and Hardee's restaurants located in Medford as well as Hardee's restaurants in Colby and Neillsville.

Prior to being elected State Representative of the 87th Assembly District in 2002, Mary served on the Taylor County Board of Supervisors for 4 years.  She has lived in Northern Wisconsin her entire life and currently resides in Medford with her husband Al.
