COMMITTEES

I am fortunate to have the opportunity to sit on five Standing Committees of the Wisconsin State Assembly, giving residents of the 81st District a strong, active voice for their views and best interests in a wide range of policy debates. Read below to learn more about the committees on which I sit and the roles that they play in the Assembly.

COMMITTEE ON AGING AND LONG-TERM CARE
REP. PEGGY KRUSICK, CHAIR COMMITTEE INFORMATION

From my advocacy for affordable housing for seniors in the 81st District to my efforts to keep area residents aware of identity theft and other fraudulent schemes that disproportionately target the elderly, I'm proud of my work to honor and protect our senior citizens; my seat on the Committee on Aging and Long-Term Care enables me to fight for seniors on the front lines of the legislative process.

COMMITTEE ON CONSUMER PROTECTION
REP. GORDON HINTZ, CHAIR COMMITTEE INFORMATION

Protecting consumers from efforts to rob them of their health, safety, or hard-earned money is one of my top priorities as a member of the State Assembly. The Committee on Consumer Protection is constantly finding new ways to safeguard the interests of consumers across the state, and it's gratifying to play such an important role in crafting the bills that help Wisconsin look out for its citizens.

COMMITTEE ON ELECTIONS AND CAMPAIGN REFORM
REP. JEFF SMITH, CHAIRCOMMITTEE INFORMATION

Campaign finance and election reform are two extremely important issues, and I'm honored to be one of the members of the Assembly charting a new course for Wisconsin elections on the Committee on Elections and Campaign Reform. As an advocate of the National Popular Vote and clean elections, my vote on this committee helps to build a solid, progressive majority for reform efforts.

COMMITTEE ON HEALTH AND HEALTHCARE REFORM
REP. JON RICHARDS, CHAIRCOMMITTEE INFORMATION

As Vice Chair of the Committee on Health and Healthcare Reform, I'm one of the Assembly members in the driver's seat on one of the most important issues facing Wisconsin: health care. As an advocate for women's health by trade and a legislator who believes universal healthcare is a human right, it's an honor to work on this vital legislative priority.

COMMITTEE ON STATE AFFAIRS AND HOMELAND SECURITY
REP. FREDERICK KESSLER, CHAIRCOMMITTEE INFORMATION

Just as important as keeping Wisconsin healthy and prosperous is the task of keeping it safe. That's the role I play on the Committee on State Affairs and Homeland Security, where I work with my colleagues on implementing thoughtful, responsible ways of guaranteeing the security of every citizen of Wisconsin while respecting the civil liberties of all.

In addition to her duties in the State Assembly, Rep. Roys is also a member of the Wisconsin Women's Council.
