Excited to be part of this historic investment for the future of Wisconsin.

Foxconn

Yesterday, the Assembly was on the floor to vote on Special Session Assembly Bill 1, more commonly referred to as the Foxconn bill. After a public hearing and adopted amendments, I feel confident that the bill we passed on the floor yesterday will be one that will benefit all of Wisconsin.

Though it is likely the Foxconn facility will be built in southeast Wisconsin, the entire state will feel the reaching effects of such a huge manufacturer creating roots in Wisconsin. As Foxconn settles in, they will be creating a new high-tech manufacturing ecosystem in Wisconsin that will need a supply chain. Bringing Foxconn to Wisconsin will construct a web of economic development throughout the state, helping to create jobs and retain our workers.

Other area business leaders are confident Foxconn coming to Wisconsin will be a benefit to the entire state. Vicki Markussen, Executive Director of the La Crosse Area Chamber of Commerce, testified in favor of the bill at its public hearing, noting, “What’s good for Wisconsin is good for La Crosse.” I am excited by the opportunities Foxconn could bring to families and businesses in the state and the 92nd Assembly District.

Ashley for the Arts

Last weekend, I had the privilege of attending Ashely for the Arts in Arcadia. It is one of Wisconsin’s largest charity events, raising more than $300,000 annually for more than 30 non-profits. I enjoyed seeing the different exhibits, listening to great musical performances, and spending time with my family and community. For more information on Ashely for the Arts and the great work they’re doing to help important causes, check out their website.
