The State of the State is...

Last Tuesday, Governor Walker delivered his annual State of the State Address to the legislature.  I agree with the governor that the state of our state is strong and am encouraged by the goals he laid out to make it even stronger.

I was pleased that one of the major themes of the Governor's address was workforce development.  When I talk to employers around the 87th Assembly District, I hear time and time again that employers need more skilled workers.  I am pleased that Governor Walker has recognized the need to invest in workforce development in our state.  I look forward to working with the governor and my legislative colleagues this session to craft policies that will build the modern workforce our state's employers need.

I was also pleased to hear Governor Walker discuss continuing broadband expansion efforts.  Improving access to high-speed internet is a concern for people across the 87th Assembly District.  I am eager to work with my colleagues and the governor’s administration to find ways to meet the need for high-speed internet in our state.

If you missed Governor Walker's speech, you can watch it here.

Rep. Edming Receives Agri-Business Award

Last week, I was honored to accept the Wisconsin Agri-Business Association's (WABA) 2017 "Friend of WABA Award" for my support of our state's agri-business industry.  As your state representative, I have seen first-hand the importance of the agri-business industry to both the 87th Assembly District and the State of Wisconsin.  Agriculture is one of the driving forces for our state's economy and I am proud to advocate for policies that will strengthen the agri-business industry in our state.  I thank the WABA for recognizing my efforts in support of this important Wisconsin industry.
