Stroke Awareness

Senator Petrowski and I invited fellow legislators to attend an informational awareness meeting sponsored by the American Stroke Association related to raising awareness about strokes.

Over the decades the medical community has made great strides in addressing and treating strokes in patients. When an individual suffers from a stroke immediate action is required. That’s why I was glad to hear how hospitals in Wisconsin have adapted over the years to adopt better standards and procedures related to the timeliness of treatment. I hope that hospitals across the state continue to converge and embrace best practices related to treating patients suffering from strokes. I want to thank the presenters for their time and efforts related to raising awareness about strokes.

This week I had the opportunity to meet with Richelle Kroening and her colleagues as they shared with me their work related to music therapy. Thanks for visiting!

Opening Day!

Tomorrow, May 4th marks the opening of Wisconsin’s fishing season. Here is a link to the Department of Natural Resources webpage that contains more detail as to which species of fish are eligible, information about acquiring a license, and other applicable regulations. Happy fishing!
