Public Assistance Advisory Committee

2017 Assembly Bill 1044

This legislation would create a Public Assistance Advisory Committee that would provide critical input on waiver development and program changes. The Committee make-up would include program participants, providers, advocacy groups that support the rights of individuals with physical and invisible disabilities, as well as policy experts such as Population Health Institute and Wisconsin Institute for Research on Poverty.

During the last couple legislative session, there have been several bills passed that have had unintended consequences for people with disabilities or caretakers. Having the wisdom of these individuals as part of an advisory council would ensure that we meet the needs of those in need.
