Representative Subeck Sworn in for Second Term, Announces 2017-2018 Committee Assignments

Named Ranking Democrat on Assembly Public Benefit Reform and Local Government Committees

MADISON- Yesterday, Representative Lisa Subeck (D-Madison) was sworn in for her second term in the State Assembly. This session, Representative Subeck will continue to serve on the Assembly Committees on Health, Children and Families, Family Law and Public Benefit Reform where she will serve as the ranking Democrat. Representative Subeck was also appointed to the Assembly Committee on Local Government, and will serve as the ranking Democrat on the committee.

“It is an honor to be selected to serve on these committees,” said Rep. Subeck. “I am excited to continue my work on these committees and to assume new leadership responsibilities as a ranking member on the Public Benefit Reform and Local Government Committees.”

Prior to being elected to the Assembly Representative Subeck served two terms on the Madison City Council. Rep. Subeck also spent a portion of her career working in the social services field focusing on issues of poverty, homelessness, and affordable housing at YWCA Madison. Her experience in local government and social services will be an asset as she leads Democrats on both the Public Benefit Reform and Local Government Committees.

“I am happy to be on committees that focus on areas of state government that I am knowledgeable and passionate about,” said Rep. Subeck. “I am appreciative to Minority Leader Peter Barca for assigning me to these committees, and I am looking forward to the hard work ahead this session.”
