Rep. Taylor Stands with Students

Thousands converge on Capitol to Demand Action on Gun Safety

MADISON – Today, high school students from around Dane County converged on the Capitol to demand common sense gun safety measures. In response, Rep. Chris Taylor (D-Madison) issued the following statement:

“Once again, our young people are showing us the way forward when policy makers have failed them. No student should be afraid of being killed while in school, nor should our children grow up in a culture of red alert trainings and hiding under desks. They are rightfully demanding common-sense gun safety laws, more behavioral and emotional supports for students and the needed resources to create inclusive, welcoming and safe campus climates. We must listen to their voices, and follow their lead. Enough is enough.”
