On Last 2017 Session Day, Assembly GOP Fails to Address the People’s Agenda

Nothing about stagnate wages, access to health care or creating a 21st Century Transportation system

MADISON – Today, the Wisconsin State Assembly met for the final time until 2018. Over the last three floor periods, Republicans have destroyed environmental protections, taken away reproductive health care from women, and denied the public access to critical body camera footage. In response, Rep. Chris Taylor (D-Madison) released the following statement:

“My Republican Assembly colleagues have ignored the message of Virginia. They continue to fail to address stagnate wages, fail to expand access to affordable, quality health care, fail to address the student debt crisis, and fail to develop a 21st century transportation system. Instead, they’re obsessed with rolling back access to reproductive health care, polluting our precious water, keeping the public in the dark about critical law enforcement interactions and passing more tax giveaways for their wealthy friends. This TrumpWalker agenda ignores the needs of actual people. When are my Republican colleagues going to actually listen to the people of this state and address the issues most important to them?”
