Red Cliff Police Department Receives Grant to Fight Drug Trafficking
MADISON – Rep. Beth Meyers (D-Bayfield) released the following statement about the Red Cliff Tribal Police Department, located in Northern Bayfield County, grant award to fight drug trafficking on the reservation:
“I’ve seen firsthand the devastation drugs have in Northern Wisconsin,” said Rep. Meyers. “I am thankful every day for the brave men and women in law enforcement that are working with communities ravaged by addiction. This grant will be allocated to pay for more resources and equipment to help make law enforcement safer and more effective. Thank you to Police Chief Kyle Cadotte and his officers for their hard work.”
This grant is one of several that will benefit local law enforcement agencies and multijurisdictional drug enforcement groups in 48 Wisconsin counties. The grants are thanks to legislation from the HOPE Agenda, a bipartisan effort aimed at combating Wisconsin’s opioid epidemic.
