Meyers Statement on $250,000 WEDC Grant For Park Falls
MADISON – State Representative Beth Meyers issued the following statement regarding the state of Wisconsin’s Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) providing a $250,000 state grant to the City of Park Falls to help finance the renovation and expansion of an existing lodging facility into a rebranded hotel.
“I’m pleased that the state of Wisconsin is making a significant investment in the Park Falls community with this Community Development Investment grant. Park Falls is one of the main hubs of tourism and outdoor activities for Northern Wisconsin and more lodging is sorely needed,” said Meyers.
The Community Development Investment (CDI) Grant from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) will support the remodeling of an antiqued facility into a 50-room Cobblestone Hotel & Suites. A study commissioned by the Park Falls Area Community Development Corporation determined that the entire northern part of Wisconsin has a severe deficit of quality hotel lodgings.
“I applaud the efforts of everyone in Park Falls who advocate for new ways to improve their community. This project has significant potential to grow tourism, outdoor activities and business development for the already dynamic Park Falls area,” stated Meyers.
