Representative Meyers is the ranking Democratic member on the Assembly Committee on Aging and Long-Term Care. She also serves on the Committee on Financial Institutions, the Committee on Energy and Utilities, and the Committee on Transportation. She was elected to the State Assembly in 2014 and has served as Minority Caucus Secretary for the 2015-2016 and 2017-2018 legislative sessions. She served as a Member of Bayfield County Board of Supervisors from 2010-2015, representing District 1-Town of Russell and the Red Cliff reservation.

Representative Meyers was born in Bayfield, Wisconsin. At the age of 25, Meyers was a young divorced mother of two children when she attended Northland College. In December 1989, Meyers received her Bachelors’ in Sociology, early the following year she was employed by the Red Cliff Tribe; ending her tenure with the tribe as the Family Services Division Chief, nine years later. Prior to her election to the State Assembly, she served as the executive director for CORE Community Resources; a community based non-profit serving seniors in the northern part of Bayfield County. In April of 1994, Meyers was elected to the Bayfield County Board for a short period of time before she relocated to Washington D.C. for a position with the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. She has served on many local boards and has volunteered with several non-profits, including the Apostle Islands Area Community Fund. Throughout her professional career she has focused on providing quality social service programs.
