What's New
By now most people have heard about Foxconn and the amazing opportunities this company is bringing to Wisconsin. The area surrounding the plant will not be the only area positively impacted. Foxconn plans to purchase more than 5 billion dollars worth of materials from companies here in Wisconsin. Local business in the 72nd can be part of this historic investment This will be possible by the use of an online website called The Supply Chain Marketplace, an easy to use website that allows companies to make a profile detailing their expertise and capabilities. The profile will then be added to a directory specifically for Foxconn, making it easier for them to find the company based on the materials or services they need. The Supply Chain Marketplace is also a great tool to connect with other local businesses. Something that makes this online tool even more lucrative? It is completely free to use. Check it out Here!
Board of Commissioners of Public Lands Loan Approvals
In July, the Board of Commissioners of Public Lands (BCPL) approved two loans for Assembly District 72. The Town of Wautoma was approved for $60,000 to help finance roadwork and the School District of Wisconsin Rapids was approved in the amount of $11,500,000 for school improvements.
This brings the total amount of loans approved for our district in the past five years to $29,505,020.
These funds come from the Common School Fund invested through the BCPL State Fund Loan Program for the specific use of public purpose projects by Wisconsin municipalities and school districts.
We benefit from these distributions because they help reduce local property taxes by providing schools with an alternative source of funding.
We are grateful for the financial support that the BCPL State Fund Loan Program has provided our district to help improve infrastructure and our schools.
