CONTINUING TO MOVE FORWARD
As a lifelong resident of
central Wisconsin, it’s been a true honor and a privilege to represent the
community in which I grew up. As I meet with constituents, tour local
businesses and travel across our 72nd Assembly District, I’m reminded each
day how fortunate we are to call this community our home. However, as in
years past, there continues to be a need for strong leadership in Madison.
While already an exceptional place to live, work and raise a family, there
is more work that needs to be done to promote our local economy and further
improve our way of life.
With several school-aged children of our own, some days it seems my wife
Amanda and I have little time left for anything other than packing book
bags, helping with homework and running to sports practice. As a proud alum
of our local schools who now has a front row seat, our community deserves a
legislator who is a strong advocate for public education. An engine for our
communities and our local economy, I believe our schools and teachers
deserve the support they need to best educate our children.
Without a doubt, my top priority going into our next state budget will be
finding ways to increase support to our public schools. When our schools
succeed, our local businesses and employers also succeed. However, there are
other ways for the state to help reduce the skills gap and promote
employment. In recent legislative sessions, I’m proud to have supported
efforts to invest in worker training programs designed to help employees
gain the skills they need to be successful and find good, family-supporting
jobs. I will continue to focus on developing our communities and increasing
opportunities for growth within both the business and tourism sectors.
In the past, we’ve been successful in working to keep employers like Skyward
in our area and attracting new developments such as the Sand Valley Golf
Resort in the town of Rome. Moving forward, I’ll continue my efforts to
attract and retain future developments that ultimately serve to bolster our
local job market and tax base.
As I reflect on our accomplishments of this past session, I’m filled with
excitement of things yet to come. I truly believe we’ve seen some remarkable
growth within our community and I remain committed to finding ways to expand
upon the work that’s been done. Thank you again for the opportunity to serve
you in the legislature for another two years,
-Scott
HONORING OUR VETERANS
Veterans Day is a day when we
remember the sacrifices of all American veterans. America has been the land
of the free because of brave American’s who in times of war and peace are
willing to dedicate their lives for their country.
(Veterans gathered at Memory Cafe in Stevens Point Celebrate Veterans)
I am proud of America’s veterans, and I personally want to take this
opportunity to thank them for fighting to preserve the rights and
opportunities that Americans cherish.

HUNTING SEASON UPDATE
Saturday November 19th is the
start of Wisconsin’s annual deer hunting season. With deer hunting season
comes questions and concerns regarding the proper process to tag a deer.
Last year Wisconsin introduced electronic registration that you can print at
home, an unforeseen issue arose however involving the paper tags which can
be easily damaged by moisture and simple wear and tear. The DNR has updated
their website to address these issues here:

For more information on these changes to the deer hunting regulation or on
any hunting related questions, please call the Department of Natural
Resources customer service call center at 1-888-WDNR INFO (1-888-936-7463)
or go online at the DNR website:

Have a wonderful and safe hunt!
