New Sentry building open for business in Stevens Point

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAW) A century old business in Stevens Point is here to stay possibly for another 100 years. The Sentry building held their brand new tower located at the entrance of the city.

"We never would have considered not putting this building in here but we're very proud of it," CEO Pete McPartland said.

The new Sentry office in Stevens Point is ready for business and it's a project that's spent years in the making.The property for the space was purchased in 2011. Landscaping and site preparation began in 2016 
Construction took place from June 2017 until today.

State and local leaders attended Sentry's opening ceremony, including Gov. Tony Evers, state Sen. Patrick Testin, state Rep. Katrina Shankland, Stevens Point Mayor Mike Wiza, and Todd Kuckkahn, Portage County Business Council executive director. Gov. Evers and Mayor Wiza both explained the corporation did not ask for any financial assistance from taxpayers.

"Sentry has always been an integral part of the community for generations and this just reaffirms that commitment," Wiza said.
