Statement: Tougher on Crime Vetoes
February 28, 2020
Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) released the following statement after Governor Evers vetoed several bills that would promote safe communities.
“Governor Evers refuses to hold criminals accountable to please his liberal ‘let them out of jail’ backers. His actions today clearly show how far left he is compared to the general public who want to live in safe neighborhoods.
“The governor has misplaced priorities. We should be prioritizing the safety of law-abiding citizens over the criminals who repeatedly break the law. Yet, Governor Evers continues to demonstrate his intentions to release half of the prison population just like he said during his campaign.”
