Speaker Vos Releases GOP Weekly Radio Address
March 26, 2020
Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) has this week’s GOP Weekly Radio Address.
I’m Assembly Speaker Robin Vos.
This past week has been a difficult one for Wisconsin. We know tens of thousands of people are losing their jobs. And many businesses are being forced to close their doors for weeks, possibly for good.
Grocery workers, truck drivers, health care workers, first responders and everyone on the front lines of this crisis are being asked to do more and more each day.
I would like to thank the people of Wisconsin for coming together in this crisis. Whether you agree or disagree with the “Safer at Home” order, we have to follow it. Do the best you can, so we can get through it quickly. We all want Wisconsin to reopen as soon as possible.
It’s good to hear that federal leaders have come to an agreement on a national stimulus and response package. We in the legislature will make sure that the federal help doesn’t get tied up in red tape and doesn’t build bureaucracy instead of helping meet the needs of families and businesses.
While these are tough times, they’re bringing out the best in Wisconsinites. People are practicing social distancing, picking up groceries for their elderly neighbors, getting take-out or delivery from their favorite restaurants and donating blood, just to name a few things.
Experts say the pandemic may get worse before it gets better, but in my heart, I know we’ll conquer this and be stronger after it’s over.
