Assembly State Affairs Committee to Hold Informational Hearing

April 29, 2020

Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) announced the Assembly Committee on State Affairs will hold an informational hearing on Thursday at 12 p.m. about the economic impact from the coronavirus outbreak and the Safer at Home order.  Invited speakers include WEDC CEO and Secretary-designee Missy Hughes, industry representatives from agriculture, hospitality and others, and officials from the Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce to discuss their “Back to Business” plan.  Speaker Vos released the following statement regarding the hearing.

“Legislative committees are where good conversations happen. During this committee meeting, lawmakers will listen to people from all over the state. Legislators and the public will not only hear from a variety of industry representatives, they’ll also learn more about the WMC plan that Governor Evers acknowledged has a similar approach of turning the dial to reopen the state.

“Our goal is to begin bipartisan discussions on a safe and gradual reopening plan for Wisconsin. We look forward to working with the governor, health experts and business owners to help the state recover from these difficult times.”
