Editorial: Campus Free Speech - The Pillar of a Democracy Our goal as legislators is not to micro-manage public university campuses, but to establish a basic framework of rules that an appointed Board of Regents act upon. Because the very fabric of our society is based upon liberty and freedom, especially within the tenets of the 1st amendment, it is imperative that our institutions of higher education remain the free marketplace of ideas.

Press Release: Rep. Jesse Kremer Circulates Campus Free Speech Act This policy, referencing the University of Chicago’s 2015 “Committee on Freedom of Expression” and Yale’s 1974 “Committee on Free Expression” findings, will ensure that freedom of expression is not only allowed, but encouraged at Wisconsin’s public universities and two year colleges.
