Working for you!

Empowering Workers to Save for the Future

Everyone deserves the opportunity to save for their retirement, regardless of where they are employed. That’s why my colleagues and I are introducing a common sense Wisconsin solution.

Our proposal, REvest, is modeled on the successful EDvest college savings accounts. It will allow workers without an employer retirement option to begin saving for retirement through payroll deductions. This solution will help workers save for a comfortable future and empower more seniors to live without depending on government services.

Habitat for Humanity

Thursday morning I had the opportunity to tour two Habitat for Humanity worksites in our community and speak with the dedicated volunteers who are helping to build or rehabilitate sixteen homes and complete over 100 Rock the Block home projects this year.

Gulfstream Employment Soars

I spent the morning at Appleton International Airport in Greenville for the grand opening of Gulfstream’s new 190,000 square foot facility that created 100 new jobs and accommodates twelve aircraft at a time.

Calling on the Governor to Restore DA Funding

This week Reps. Steineke, Tusler, Tauchen, Rohrkaste, I sent the Wisconsin Department of Administration a letter calling on them to restore funding for one additional Assistant District Attorney (ADA) position in Outagamie County that Governor Evers vetoed. Although funding is available for the position in the state budget, the governor’s veto allows state bureaucrats to reallocate funding for ADA positions elsewhere, putting the much need Outagamie County position approved by the legislature at risk.

In the District

I had a great time reconnecting with my friend Greg Dannecker at a county corn roast. I got to know Greg during his time on the Appleton Common Council and it’s always great to hear about the ways he’s contributing to our community.
