Capitol 100th Anniversary Gala

This year marks the 100th anniversary of our beautiful State Capitol building. In honor of this anniversary, the Wisconsin Historical Foundation put on a once in a lifetime gala to benefit the Capitol Restoration Fund. Here are some photos from the event:

Left to right: John Leiber, my research assistant Diane Handrick, me, my wife Lynn, my former legislative assistant David Boardman, and Ryan Specht.

I had a moment to catch up with former Governor Tommy G. Thompson.

Former Governor Thompson is explaining the mural in the State Assembly to us.

Veterans Day

Although one day is never enough to recognize their service, Monday marks Veterans Day this year. I recently had the opportunity to meet one veteran who left quite an impact on me. Kris "Tanto" Paronto is a former Army Ranger and survivor of the 2012 Benghazi Siege that was the subject of the book and movie 13 Hours spoke in Neenah this week.

This Monday, don't forget to thank all those who have served our country so courageously.

Check out other upcoming events near us by visiting the Wisconsin Tourism website, and if you run into me while you’re out and about be sure to stop and say hi!
