Best State Tax Rating in Over 50 Years

We've reduced the tax burden on hardworking citizens like you by over $8 billion since 2011. This means that Wisconsin raced from the 9th highest tax burden in the nation, to 22nd in just five years (2010-2015), outpacing all but two states in improving our standing. Wisconsin’s overall tax burden, as a percentage of personal income, is now below the national average and our ranking against other states is the best it has been in over 50 years.

World Rabies Day

This week Wednesday marked World Rabies Day, a day set aside in the worldwide effort to control the spread of the rabies virus. In recognition of this effort, the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade & Consumer Protection has created a coloring book to help children learn about rabies.

Steps featured in the coloring book to help protect yourself and your pets from rabies include:

  • Enjoy wildlife from a distance.

  • Do not let pets roam free. Always walk them on a leash or keep them in a fenced yard.

  • Cover garbage cans securely and do not store pet food bags outside to attract wildlife.

  • Prevent bats from entering your home.

  • Provide bat houses as an alternative nesting location.

You can download and print the coloring book by clicking here:  https://datcp.wi.gov/Documents/ProtectYourselfRabiesColoringBook.pdf
