Working for you!

IT Job Prep Beginning in High School

UW System will be investing $900,000 in a pilot program for Fox Valley students to begin earning college credits while still in high school. The "1+3" program is aimed at increasing the number of skilled information technology (IT) workers to meet industry needs in the Fox Valley.

I joined Governor Walker and Chancellor Leavitt for the announcement of this exciting new program at UW–Oshkosh.

Bringing Smiles to Veterans

Veterans can receive free dental care on Saturday, June 24th in Appleton. Aspen Dental’s National Day of Service is an event that is expected to be the largest single-day oral health initiative for veterans in 2017.

Interested veterans should call (844) 277-3646 to find a local participating practice and schedule an appointment. Space is limited and appointments are filling up fast!

Recognizing Eagle Scouts

Dylan Zinkgraf and William Tews are receiving legislative citations from Senator Roth and me to recognize them for earning the rank of Eagle Scout.

Eagle Scout Projects: Dylan constructed a trailhead kiosk at the Prairie Hill Park in Grand Chute and William constructed picnic tables for Homeless Connections in the Fox Valley.

It's June: Watch for Deer

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is cautioning drivers to keep an eye out for deer this June. Last year, there were 665 deer related accidents in Outagamie County and 448 in Winnebago County.

Summer Events

Summer is just around the corner! I’m looking forward to getting out to Breakfast on the Farm, the Appleton Flag Day Parade and all those great outdoor Wisconsin events. Check out upcoming events near us by visiting the Wisconsin Tourism website, and if you run into me while you’re out and about be sure to stop and say hi!

The Appleton Flag Day Parade began in 1950 and is the nation's oldest! See you tomorrow afternoon in Appleton!
