Working for you!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Budget Listening Sessions and Survey

Every two years, the legislature goes through the biennial budget process. An important part of this is to gather feedback from our constituents on the Governor's proposal so the legislature knows your views on the budget. As I have done in the past, I have scheduled budget listening sessions and also created a budget survey that will go out in the mail in the next few weeks.

Please watch your mailbox for the budget survey and mark your calendar to attend one of the budget listening sessions. We will also put up an online survey in a few weeks, if you'd prefer to respond electronically. Please note: the purpose of these budget listening sessions is to gather feedback on the budget proposal. If you have thoughts and concerns relating to other issues, I would encourage to contact my office outside of these sessions. I welcome your comments at any point, through any medium, so if you cannot make it to a listening session, just email or call my office.

On Saturday, April 22, I will hold listening sessions for the 56th Assembly District.

Village of Winneconne

Municipal Building, Winneconne

Fox Valley Technical College

The Joint Committee on Finance, which is the committee that votes on individual budget items, also holds listening sessions throughout the state. I am not a member of this committee, but we work closely with our colleagues on that committee to give them feedback and proposals on issues important to our district.

This year, the Committee will hold 6 public hearings at the following locations:

1. Monday, April 3 - UW-Platteville, Platteville

2. Wednesday, April 5 - State Fair Park, Milwaukee

3. Friday, April 7 - Berlin High School, Berlin

4. Tuesday, April 18 - Spooner High School, Spooner

5. Wednesday, April 19 - Ellsworth High School, Ellsworth

6. Friday, April 21 - Marinette High School, Marinette

Even if you can't make a listening session, please contact my office anytime to make your voice heard.
