Rep. Rohrkaste and Rep. Murphy Joint Statement on Highway 10/441 Project Delay

Fox Valley Legislators Call on the Committee on Joint Finance to Release Funding

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) announced that five major road projects, including the Highway 10/441 project in the Fox Valley, will be delayed. Representative Mike Rohrkaste (R-Neenah) and Representative Dave Murphy (R-Greenville) released the following statement in response to this announcement:

"We are very disappointed this key project has been delayed after being assured throughout the budget process that this project is a top priority," said Rohrkaste.

"Next to the Zoo Interchange, the Highway 10/441 Interchange is the most important highway project in the state that is already under construction," Murphy said. "The completion of this vital interchange will bring increased economic activity to the whole Fox Valley."

In the budget, the legislature set aside $350 million in contingency bonding to fund projects that are critical to the state and the economy that must be authorized by the Joint Finance Committee (JFC).

Rohrkaste and Murphy call on the DOT to submit a formal request to the JFC to continue funding the Highway 10/441 project and for the JFC to release the funds. They also urge their colleagues in the Senate who are reluctant to utilize these funds to rethink their position.
