Working for you!

Official Facebook Page Launched

In an effort to continually engage with you on important topics facing the state, I launched a new Facebook page today. Please like it by clicking here!

I will use Facebook to update you more frequently on my work in Madison and the 56th Assembly District.  I look forward to using this as another way to connect with constituents and encourage you to follow it and watch for regular updates.

Good News for Wisconsin

The Department of Administration released its Annual Fiscal Report. The state will end Fiscal Year 2015 with an additional $135.6 million in the General Fund. The report stated that tax revenues increased 4.3%, even after the legislature reduced the tax burden by nearly $2 billion last session.

A separate announcement by the Department of Workforce Development (DWD) showed that the state unemployment rate reached a 14-year low at 4.3%. This is below the national unemployment rate which is at 5.1%. DWD also reported that the average Initial Unemployment Insurance Claims for the first 40 weeks of 2015 dropped to the lowest point since 1990, and the number of new business entities formed in Wisconsin in the first nine months of 2015 grew by 3.4% as compared to 2014.

These numbers are positive news for the state that show our reforms are working! I will continue to work with my colleagues to make the tough, but responsible financial decisions that move our state forward.

Fall Colors in Wisconsin

This time of year is always beautiful in the 56th District and around Wisconsin. If you get the chance this week, take a road trip around Winnebago and Outagamie counties. The trees in our area are at 80-100 percent peak. Now's a great chance to enjoy the season.

Why do the leaves change color? You can learn all about the science of it at the Department of Natural Resource's webpage.

Welcome!

I live in Greenville, but have an office at the State Capitol in Madison. If you are in downtown Madison, please feel free to stop by and say hello! Just go to the information desk in the rotunda, and they can direct you on how to find my office, 318 North. At the bottom of each e-update, you'll see my office contact information.

If your school or group plans to tour the Capitol building, please let me know in advance. I'd love to visit with you for a few minutes and take a group photo.
