Rohrkaste Receives Alzheimer’s Association Outstanding Advocacy Award

Madison, WI – On Monday, State Representative Mike Rohrkaste (R-Neenah) received the 2016 Outstanding Advocacy Award from the Alzheimer’s Association Wisconsin Chapter Network.  Rohrkaste was presented with the award by Tom Hlavacek, Executive Director of the Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, at the Alzheimer’s Association annual conference in Wisconsin Dells.

“I am honored to receive this award,” said Rep. Rohrkaste. “Alzheimer’s affects thousands of Wisconsinites every day and the Alzheimer’s Association is doing a fantastic job of raising awareness surrounding this disease.”

Rep. Rohrkaste chaired the Speaker’s Task Force on Alzheimer’s and Dementia which held hearings around the state.  The task force heard from hundreds of Wisconsinites affected by Alzheimer’s and formulated a package of 10 bills aimed at addressing the most pressing issues this disease causes.

“I am proud of the work the task force accomplished,” said Rohrkaste. “The Alzheimer’s Association provided valuable input and feedback for the task force and helped us pass meaningful legislation which will help thousands of Wisconsinites living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers.”
