Rohrkaste Reaction to State of the State Address
Madison, WI – State Representative Mike Rohrkaste (R-Neenah) issued the following statement after the State of the State Address given by Governor Scott Walker on Tuesday afternoon to a Joint Session of the Wisconsin State Legislature.
“Wisconsin is headed in the right direction,” said Rep. Rohrkaste. “Our unemployment rate is at its lowest point in 15 years, property taxes are down, and Wisconsin continues to be a great place to start a business.
“I’m glad to hear that Governor Walker continues to be very interested in workforce development. The state of our state is strong, and we can ensure it remains that way by getting even more people into Wisconsin’s workforce. I constantly hear from Fox Cities employers about their need for more workers, especially those with industry-specific skills. We have an excellent opportunity to decrease the worker shortage, and I look forward to working on this issue during the 2017-18 legislative session.
“The governor’s added focus on improving Wisconsin’s schools, growing the economy, and limiting government spending are also good news for Wisconsinites. I look forward to working with the Governor and my fellow legislators in these areas.”
