E-Bikes Bill Signed into Law

Madison, WI – Gov. Tony Evers has signed into law Assembly Bill 132, a proposal introduced by State Rep. Mike Rohrkaste (R-Neenah) that clarifies the laws regulating electric bicycles.

“E-bikes are increasingly popular in Wisconsin, but the old laws didn’t reflect the differences between e-bikes and other motor-driven bicycles, so there was a lot of confusion about where and how e-bikes could be used,” Representative Rohrkaste said.  “I believe that clear, consistent laws that treat e-bikes more like traditional bicycles will benefit not only cyclists of all ages, but also Wisconsin’s bicycle industry, so I am pleased Assembly Bill 132 enjoyed bipartisan support throughout the process.”
