Opioid Legislation Signed into Law!

On Monday, Governor Walker, Lieutenant Governor Kleefisch, and State Representative John Nygren (R-Marinette) traveled across Wisconsin as the Governor signed into law 11 special session bills from the Heroin, Opioid Prevention and Education (H.O.P.E) Agenda. In January, Governor Walker called the legislature into special session to continue the fight against the heroin and opioid epidemic. These bipartisan bills were passed overwhelmingly in both houses of the legislature and will go a long way in combating the heroin and opioid epidemic in Wisconsin.

Currently, thousands of families in Wisconsin are impacted by opioids every year. This problem has affected people in both urban and rural areas, and continues to negatively impact residents right here in the Fox Cities. These bills will help to break the cycle of drug use, which is one of the first steps to recovery. Ultimately, this legislation will help to save lives right here in Wisconsin by getting people access to the treatment they so desperately need. Representative Nygren and Lieutenant Governor Kleefisch have been at the forefront of this issue, and I applaud them for the continued dedicated efforts. I am proud to have supported every single one of these bills and look forward to working with the representative and lieutenant governor on these issues in the future.

The special session bills are another step in the right direction, but there is always more work to be done. Wisconsin has been a leader nationally in the fight against the heroin and opioid epidemic and will continue to be at the forefront. If you are interested in learning more about the H.O.P.E. Oshkosh Corporation's 100th Anniversary!

I am honored to have been a retiree recognized by Oshkosh Corporation during the parade last Saturday.

Last weekend, Oshkosh Corporation celebrated its 100th Anniversary with an open house and parade! The turnout was fantastic with thousands of people from all over Wisconsin attending the event. It was great to see generations of families from all over the Fox Valley come together to celebrate this company where many of their friends and relatives have worked, in several cases for generations. Oshkosh Corporation is an example of another great Wisconsin company that invests in its workforce and community.

I am very proud of my time working at Oshkosh Corporation, as are thousands of residents in our area. Oshkosh Corporation and its thousands of employees are one more reason the Fox Valley is such a great place to call home. Congratulations to the entire Oshkosh Corporation family on this important milestone!
