In-District Budget Listening Sessions


Today, I announced three additional in-district listening sessions focusing on the state’s 2017-19 biennial budget. I will be holding the listening sessions to hear from residents of the 55th Assembly District regarding Governor Walker’s budget proposal.

My first three listening sessions had a great turnout, and I received very productive feedback. Because of the increased interest of many constituents, I will be holding three additional budget listening sessions to gain more feedback on the governor’s budget proposal. If constituents are unable to attend the listening sessions they are always welcome to contact me via phone, email, or by mail.

I will be available to meet with constituents at the locations and times listed below:

Fox Valley Technical College Listening Session
Where: Fox Valley Technical College, Room A170, 1825 North Bluemound Drive, Appleton, WI 54914.
When: Thursday, April 13th from 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM
Please use Entrance 16 off of the North parking lot. Directions, maps, and floor plans may be found at www.fvtc.edu/appleton.

Town of Clayton Listening Session
Where: Clayton Town Hall, Council Meeting Room, 8348 County Road T, Larsen, WI 54947
When: Monday, April 24th from 4:00PM – 5:30 PM
Please use the double glass doors in the southeast corner of the Town Hall to access the meeting room.

City of Neenah Listening Session
Where: Neenah Public Library, Shattuck Room, 240 East Wisconsin Avenue, Neenah, WI 54956
When: Friday, April 28th from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM


REMINDER: Joint Finance Committee Public Hearings


This week, the Joint Committee on Finance started traveling around the state to host six public hearings with the goal of seeking input from Wisconsin residents on the Governor's budget recommendations. So far, we have received feedback from constituents in the Platteville area and in the Milwaukee area. Tomorrow, the committee will be holding the nearest public hearing to the 55th Assembly District, in Berlin. The nearest public hearing after that will be in Marinette on Friday, April 21st. 2017 Spring Budget Survey


This week, many constituents will be receiving my 2017 Spring Budget Survey in their mailbox. I highly encourage any constituent that receives the survey to fill it out and send it back. I will be using results from the survey to help me better understand constituent opinions on Governor Walker's budget proposal. Joint Finance Committee Agency Briefings


Last week was very busy at the Capitol. On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday the Joint Finance Committee held agency briefings with various departments to discuss the governor's budget proposals. These briefings mark the beginning of the Finance Committee’s budget process. The hearings are an opportunity to hear from the secretary of each department and to listen to their opinions on the governor's budget proposals and the needs of their respective departments. We held briefings this week with the following government agencies:
