Lieutenant Governor Visits the 55th
Tuesday, the Assembly Committee on Mental Health Reform, of which I am a
member, passed Assembly
Bill 408. The bill was introduced by Representative Mary Czaja
(R-Irma) and Senator Leah Vukmir (R-Wauwatosa), and passed the committee
gives tools to providers which will allow for greater coordination of
care and access to care. This legislation also provides more
efficient health care delivery for those suffering from mental illness.
The pilot program aims to reduce the costs and improve the outcomes of
Medicaid recipients who have a mental illness. Additionally,
the mental health bed tracker program will help to efficiently and
effectively locate psychiatric beds available throughout Wisconsin.
