Last month, I attended the Oshkosh Holiday Parade. Thank you to everyone who attended!
Lincoln Hills Visit
On November 20th, I visited Lincoln Hills and Copper Lake Youth Prisons to meet the young people living there and speak with current and former employees. I am working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to find a solution to the problems at these facilities to best serve the residents and staff. I encourage you to learn more about what Democrats are saying and possible alternatives working elsewhere.
Rep. Hintz in the News
On November 21st, I had the opportunity to sit down with Speaker Vos and discuss the important issues facing our state. Watch the full episode of Civil Dialogue on Wisconsin Eye here.
On November 18th, I spoke with Speaker Vos on Here and Now regarding Foxconn, the corrections system, and other legislation taking shape this fall.
Thank you to the Cap Times for their confidence in this new chapter for the Assembly Democratic Caucus. “Two months ago, Assembly Democrats signaled their desire to get out of the rut the party has been in by electing a new leader for their caucus: state Rep. Gordon Hintz. A dynamic 43-year-old progressive, Hintz has already brought needed focus and energy to the job.”
Wisconsin Losing Ground on Conservation
This Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article highlights how Gov. Walker has taken Wisconsin backwards on environmental issues. We must preserve our state’s natural resources for generations to come.
Oshkosh Corporation Update
I am happy to hear that Oshkosh Corp. will continue its 100-year tradition of operating in Oshkosh and bolstering our local economy. To learn more about this decision and Oshkosh Corp.’s long history in our community click here.
Capitol Christmas Tree
The Capitol Christmas Tree is on display in the rotunda. This year a 40-foot balsam fir from the Town of Emery will be displayed in the rotunda for the holiday season. Stop by to see it decorated with ornaments made by Wisconsin students.
Schedule a School Visit
The best part of my job is getting to know my constituents. Please let me know if you would like me to arrange a Capitol tour for your students, visit your classroom, or come see your business. It would be my pleasure to listen to your thoughts and supply you with any resources my office can provide.
If you want to schedule a tour yourself you can call the tour desk at (608)266-0382 or schedule one online by clickinghere.
Classroom Visit
Last month I visited my alma mater, Washington Elementary School and spoke with 5thgraders about state government.
