Governor Evers has issued a “Safer at Home” emergency order. The order directs all Wisconsinites to stay at their place of residence, with limited exceptions. All non-essential businesses and operations must cease (please refer to the order for the definition of “essential”). All public and private gatherings of any number of people that are not part of a single household or living unit are prohibited. The order is effective at 8:00 AM Wednesday, March 25, 2020 and will remain in effect until 8:00 AM Friday, April 24, 2020.
Additionally, the Governor’s office communicated that businesses that believe they are doing essential work can petition the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation to review their case. You can visit https://wedc.org/essentialbusiness for more information.
Support Local Restaurants
Governor Evers ordered all bars and restaurants closed until further notice to combat the COVID-19 Pandemic. However, while dining rooms are closed and in-person consumption is prohibited, take-out and delivery are still permissible.
Please join me in supporting these establishments during this difficult time. These lists will be continuously changing. If there are any establishments that you would like to see added, please feel free to contact my office and/or the appropriate Chamber of Commerce.
Governor Evers has made it clear that the April 7th elections will go forward as planned. Individuals can request an absentee ballot online. All absentee ballot requests for the April 7th election must be made by Thursday, April 2 at 5:00 PM.
Local county Health Departments are working closely with state agencies. I would encourage anyone who has questions or concerns regarding COVID-19 to contact your local county health department.
