Representative Thomas Lothian, 1928-2015
As you may have heard, our area lost a great man late last week. Former Representative Thomas (Tom) Lothian passed away at the age of 86. Tom preceded me as Representative to the 32nd District and will be missed.
I had the privilege of working as a member of Tomís staff in Madison for over five and a half years. I have always treasured the hours we spent together working for the people of the 32nd Assembly District. Tom spent nearly 30 years serving his village, county, and state.
While it was an honor to work for such a great public servant, I am fortunate to have become close with such an amazing man. Tomís humor and pleasant disposition were contagious. He always conducted himself as a true gentleman and the lessons I learned from him are too numerous to count. Simply put, our world would be a better place if we all were just a little more like Tom Lothian.
A visitation will be held Friday, May 22, from 3 to 8 p.m., at Toynton Funeral Home, Walworth.
This will be followed by a short visitation on Saturday, May 23, at 10 a.m., at the United Church of Christ, Williams Bay, with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Tomís name to the Williams Bay Lions Club, Williams Bay School District, Williams Bay United Church of Christ or the Geneva Lake Sailing School.
