Merry Christmas from our Office!

RobSharXmas.JPG

Sharlene and I would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Remember to have fun, stay safe, and try to help those who are less fortunate this holiday season.

The taxpayers of Wisconsin have certainly received an early gift this year, starting with the complete elimination of the forestry mill tax. This saves taxpayers more than $180 million! Additionally, our recent tax reforms are saving the average household nearly $3,000 in property taxes. Since 2010, the GOP has cut taxes by more than $8 billion and we intend to keep working hard to lower the tax burden within Wisconsin.

We Welcome iMark Expansion in Woodville!

IMARKLtGUV.jpg

On November 16th, I spent with Mark Sturtevant, the CEO if iMark, and Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch learning the details and plans for the 91,684 square foot building expansion, which includes a new state-of-the-art ISO Class 7 Pharma Grade Cleanroom! iMark is a plastic injection molding company serving nationwide consumers, that is heavily investing in the future of Woodville and St. Croix County! Their expansion is expected to be completed by the end of 2018 and will create 40 or more well-paying jobs. I am excited to see this kind of growth within the 29th District!

Taking District 29 Needs to the Desk of the GUV!

Recently, I have worked hard to get bills that benefit my fellow citizens of the 29th District to Governor Walker's desk and I have had the privilege of seeing him sign those bills into law. It's humbling to see the bills I authored become law, and it's especially satisfying knowing that those laws can help and affect people all across Wisconsin. One of the laws I authored is Act 72, the Prize Promotion law, which promotes the practice of putting money into savings and gaining interest for our children and young people. Another law I authored, which Governor Walker signed into law before gun deer season started, is Act 62, which allows parents to make the decision of when to introduce their children to the great Wisconsin tradition of hunting, while still keeping their children safe in the woods under arms-length supervision. I am excited that my legislation now allows parents to pass on their love of hunting and the outdoors to their children, once they feel their children are ready. I am also proud to have been a strong supporter of Acts 67 & 68, allowing me to attend the signing of these bills in the Governor's office; these Acts make great strides in protecting our property rights, an important goal of mine. District 29 deserves to have its voice heard in Madison, and I look forward to continuing to make it heard.

St. Croix Central Visits the Capitol!

It's quite a drive to Madison, but St. Croix Central AP Government students made the hike to the Capitol for a tour and were able to witness an Assembly Floor Session while we were voting. I love when folks from the District are able to come down and see how things work at the Capitol. Please contact my office if you would like to arrange a tour or even to just pop in and visit. My door is always open!
