Honoring Our Veterans

On Monday, our nation recognized Veterans Day to say thank you to those who served in the military. While we should thank our veterans every day of the year, it is important that we take this time to acknowledge the sacrifices they have made in service to our country. From my office to all veterans and their families, thank you!

Authored Legislation Passed

Two bills I authored, Senate Bill (SB) 395 and SB 457, passed with strong bipartisan support when the Assembly convened this week.

SB 362 removes approximately 19 pages from Wisconsin's statute books and continues the work that Republicans have put in to simplify our tax laws, while SB 457 modernizes Wisconsin's banking laws and helps Wisconsin's financial institutions operate in today's economy. Both bills received approval from the Senate and Assembly and now head to the Governor's desk for his signature.

In addition to the legislation that I authored, the Assembly passed a bill with local impact. AB 434, authored by Rep. Vorpagel and Sen. LeMahieu, allows Road America in Plymouth to apply to Department of Revenue for a Liquor Permit for their 11 concessions stands on the grounds that are operated by multiple local groups, including non-profits and businesses. This bill helps Road America move forward with their business with more certainty and clarity.

As always, I encourage you to follow my updates on social media or contact my office directly with your questions. Best wishes on your weekend!
