Representative Terry Katsma was first elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 2014. He is proud to serve as Chair of the Assembly Committee on Financial Institutions, as Vice-Chair on the Committee on Ways and Means, and as a member of six additional committees and commissions.
Terry was born and raised in Sheboygan County, graduating from Sheboygan County Christian High School in 1976. He went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree in Business from Dordt College in Iowa and his M.B.A from Marquette University.
After college, Terry returned to Sheboygan County and began work at a community bank in Oostburg, where he worked for 33 years and remains on the Board of Directors. He enjoyed every opportunity to provide support to local businesses and families as they worked to achieve their financial dreams.
Terry cares deeply about his community; prior to his election to the Assembly, he served six years as a Village Trustee in Oostburg. He previously served on the Board of Trustees at Trinity Christian College. Terry is actively involved with community youth through his position as a board member of Workbound, a non-profit organization that helps high school students become career ready. He also serves on the Board of Managers of the Sheboygan County YMCA. At his church, he served as an elder and as a deacon.
Terry and his wife, Nancy, happily raised three children in Oostburg and are proud grandparents of five.
