Hello,

This week I met with the WBA in Madison to hear some of the legislative priorities this session. The WBA represents broadcasters of all kinds throughout Wisconsin, including some in our local community. Joining me in the meeting were Representative Shae Sortwell and Representative Tyler Vorpagel

 Legislative Update and Committee Action

Last week I testified with Senator Andre Jacque on AB 716. Under current law, law enforcement may be called to an incident in which a person is exhibiting behaviors that could be a threat to that individual or to others. In those instances, law enforcement has the authority to place the person in custody for 72 hours for purposes of emergency detention. This bill clarifies that this 72 hour period cannot include time when the patient is being tested for a a non-psychiatric medical condition.

Blue Book Order.pngThe 2019-2020 State of Wisconsin Blue Book is now available. It's published biennially by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau. The Blue Book is a valuable source of information on state government, the legislative process and the history of our state. The featured article in the book is called: A HERO'S WELCOME, How the 1919 Wisconsin Legislature overcame divisions to enact innovative veterans legislation following World War I. If you would like a copy of the Wisconsin Blue Book to be sent to you, please contact my office at Rep.Tittl@legis.wisconsin.gov. You can view the book online at https://legis.wisconsin.gov/lrb/blue-book/.
