State Capitol At the Capitol I recently created a new Twitter page that will provide up-to-date information on legislation, community events, and news updates. Twitter also provides me with the ability to connect with you.
Wisconsin Public
Radio Interview
On December 12th, I was interviewed
on Central Time on Wisconsin Public Radio regarding bi-partisan
legislation I recently introduced on corrections reform and prison
overcrowding. Please

Rob Ferrett from WPR
interviewed me on Corrections Reform Legislation along with my publication, Inmate 501
I created the publication,
Inmate 501, to showcase the converging crises we are facing in the
Wisconsin Prison system: the overcrowding adult population and a
declining juvenile population. With this, I drafted three legislative
solutions to address these issues.

I hope you and your family are well! I wanted to provide you with an update on legislative activity here at the Capitol and initiatives I continue to work on for our community. There are many updates since my last communication, including two bills I authored that were signed into law. Other updates are included below.
Also, to provide more news and daily updates I post frequently on my official Facebook and Twitter pages. I hope it helps keep you informed.
As your representative it is always my goal to be as accessible as possible. If your neighborhood association, club, or community group is having a meeting, please consider inviting me to attend. We can discuss how your voices, values, and concerns influence my work in the Capitol. Please call my office at (608) 266-0645 and let me know about your local event. I’d love to visit with you back home in Milwaukee. As always, please let me know if I can be of any assistance to you.
Happy Holidays to you and your family.

Rep. Goyke Continues to Lead in Helping Wisconsin Veterans with Bi-Partisan Legislation
On December 6th, two bills I authored with my colleagues Senators Testin and Roth were signed into law by Governor Walker. These bi-partisan pieces of legislation will accomplish two major changes in State law to benefit veterans.
Senate Bill 224
This bill creates the Veteran Farmer
Assistance and Outreach Program within our state's Department of
Agriculture. This program will further help integrate veterans, both
urban and rural, into the
field of agriculture and support veterans currently working in agriculture. This bill aligns the State's minimum disability rating with the Federal system to expand eligibility for disabled veteran-owned businesses to participate in state procurement programs.
Members from the Department of Veteran's Affairs and the American Legion were present for the bill signing
Rep. Goyke and Senator Testin explain the need to integrate veterans into agriculture Are You A Veteran?
If you are a veteran and interested in learning more about what state
and federal benefits may be available to you and/or your family, I
encourage you to contact Milwaukee County's Veteran's Service Officer (CVSO)
Mr. Jim Duff.
Employment Resource
The
Department of Workforce Development (DWD) has a Skill Explorer website
that provides a free job search tool allowing Wisconsin workers to
search for employment opportunities that match their existing skills and
training, which can be found
here. Happy Holidays from The Capitol! I hope you and your family have a fun and safe holiday season.
