COVID-19 Update

Dear Neighbor,

In order to support your families being able to take a deep breath, turn away from constant news updates, and create a new temporary normal, my office will continue posting a near-daily update on the COVID-19 public health emergency to our website and on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

It is my hope that one reliable update each day will allow you to take a deep breath, oversee all that is happening in your own life and home, and have a reliable source of news you can count on to be up to date and accurate. As always, previous updates are on our website and linked beneath the graphic below.

My greatest concerns right now are your lives and livelihoods. We are working hard to keep you and your loved ones safe, and to fight for our small businesses in an unprecedented crisis.

PSC Extends Utility Shut-off Moratorium

The Wisconsin Public Service Commission (PSC) voted today to suspend the disconnection of utility services for residential customers until September 1st. The moratorium was set to expire on July 25th.

Mask Up Milwaukee

MKE Free Masks.jpg Free masks will be available for individuals and households and the above locations.

Milwaukee County Buses - Masks Required

Milwaukee County Executive Crowley announced today that the Milwaukee County Transit System will require riders to wear face masks on buses starting on August 1st to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Statewide

45,899 confirmed cases (increase of 1,052*)

6.9% of total tests are positive (for 7/23)

4,273 hospitalizations (9.3% of cases- increase of 48)

35,502 recovered cases (77% of all cases)

778,842 negative test results (increase of 14,212)

878 devastating deaths (increase of 13)

14th District Counties

Milwaukee - 17,197 confirmed cases (increase of 420)
Waukesha - 2,632 confirmed cases (increase of 92)
