Milwaukee County Housing Assistance
Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley announced today that the county would use $10 million in funding from the federal CARES Act for housing assistance.
This housing assistance initiative will include eviction prevention, mortgage payment assistance, and affordable housing development. A portion of these funds are available as of today, Thursday, June 11th and will support Milwaukee County residents facing housing instability.
EVICTION PREVENTION

- Amounts: Up to $3,000 Per Cooperative Landlord / Tenant Stipulated Agreement
- Total Funding: $7 million dollars from the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act
- Eligibility: Individuals / Families in Milwaukee County Facing Eviction or Behind on Rent due to a COVID-19 related loss of income. Eligible recipients will be 80% or less of the median income for the Milwaukee County metropolitan area.

DHS - Crisis Counseling Services Grant
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) announced today that a $675,526 grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) was awarded to the Wisconsin Emergency Management, which DHS is using to partner with the Wisconsin Community Action Program Association to provide crisis counseling services to people experiencing anxiety and stress as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Relief Funds for Hospitals - CARES Act
Governor Evers announced today that hospitals across Wisconsin will receive direct payments from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) to assist with lost revenue and expenses they’ve incurred due to the COVID-19 pandemic in March, April, and May of 2020. DHS will distribute these payments from $40 million of funding provided to Wisconsin under the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

Milwaukee Business Restart Program

The Milwaukee Business Restart program uses federal relief funds to assist established Milwaukee businesses as they recover from COVID-19-related setbacks.
The City of Milwaukee will provide grants to businesses so they can restock perishable inventory, purchase personal protective equipment, and accommodate social distancing guidance. The program is targeted at small businesses significantly impacted by the COVID-19 crisis and eligibility requirements are located on the website. The City anticipates disbursing grants in the coming weeks and applications will be accepted until 5:00 PM TOMORROW, Friday, June 12th, 2020.
