Task Force on Foster Care Finds Legislative Solutions
Madison – Earlier today, the Speaker’s Task Force on Foster Care held a press conference to shine light on the group’s findings relating to legislative ways to improve Wisconsin’s child welfare system. The bi-partisan Task Force, chaired by Representative Patrick Snyder (R-Schofield) and Representative Steve Doyle (D-Onalaska), will be introducing 13 bills, one for each of its members, aimed at bettering Wisconsin’s foster care system.
Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke (R-Kaukauna) released this statement following the press conference:
“It has been a pleasure to see the great things coming out of this dynamic group of legislators. At the end of the day, children in need don’t care about politics or party lines, and I’m proud to see that Rep. Snyder, Rep. Doyle, and the entire Task Force on Foster Care have truly come together to create meaningful change for our state’s most vulnerable children and families. I look forward to adding my name as a co-sponsor to these transformative bills.”
